Eastern Nutrition
Description:
This course is intended for therapists of various disciplines (with basic knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine) who wish to learn more about the wonderful therapeutic benefits which TCM can offer with regard to diet and nutrition.
This is also a practical course, participants will be encouraged to share various recipes, prepare foods, and share experiences with dietary modification though online discussion.
Topics
The topics to be covered are:
- TCM digestion (overview)
- TCM healthy diet principles, etiology, and prevention
- Cooking methods
- Thermal nature
- Major TCM patterns and their dietary therapy: Spleen Qi deficiency, Excess heat/Fire, Blood deficiency, Yin deficiency, Yang deficiency, Damp-Phlegm, Damp-Heat, Liver Qi Stg/Blood Stasis
- 5 elements in diet, colours and flavours
- Vitamins and minerals reframed in TCM terms
Prerequisite: Trained and/or practicing an Eastern or holistic therapy with an understanding of TCM theory and the meridian system. OR Completion of the 100 hour Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory course offered at AIM Academy. If you have questions about prerequisites please contact us via email.

Sundays: March 26, April 2 from 2:00PM - 6:00PM & April 23, 30 May 7 from 9:00AM – 1:00PM
