5 class series
Begins October 15
TaiJi is a sophisticated movement practice that incorporates philosophy, therapeutics and martial arts. This class focuses on the fundamentals of TaiJi movement, namely, TaiJi Circles and TaiJi Spirals. TaiJi Circles emphasize fluid, relaxed, circular motion, that help to open up the joints, increase ROM and release muscle tension. TaiJi Spirals emphasize dynamic, linked, spiralling and drilling motions that help to build strength while developing solid and efficient bio-mechanics. From this foundation, class explores some of the more complex areas of health/rehabilitation, martial arts, and underlying TaiJi philosophy (Yin and Yang), which is continuously referenced as a theoretical basis for the practice.
