(3 Classes)

Regular price $90.00 Special Offer

TaiJi is a sophisticated movement practice that incorporates philosophy, therapeutics and martial arts. This ongoing twice-monthly class focuses on the fundamentals of TaiJi movement, namely, TaiJi Circles and TaiJi Spirals. TaiJi Circles emphasize fluid, relaxed, circular motion, that help to open up the joints, increase ROM and release muscle tension. TaiJi Spirals emphasize dynamic, linked, spiralling and drilling motions that help to build strength while developing solid and efficient bio-mechanics. From this foundation, class explores some of the more complex areas of health/rehabilitation, martial arts, and underlying TaiJi philosophy (Yin and Yang), which is continuously referenced as a theoretical basis for the practice.

Fundamental Class: 6pm - 7pm, every other Tuesday

The first hour of every class is focused on the fundamentals. Fundamentals are important for anyone at any level, but especially beginners. Emphasis is placed on posture and movement characteristics.

Comprehensive Class: 6pm - 9pm, every other Tuesday

Comprehensive Class includes the Fundamentals Class, as well as an additional 2 hours. These additional hours are focused on the deeper complexities and benefits of TaiJi practice.
