Cosmetic Acupuncture

Acupuncture, Tuina, Gua Sha, Cupping & Moxibustion

An ancient method of healing that uses individually packaged, sterilized, disposable needles. These extremely thin needles are positioned on specific points to balance the flow of vital energy, Qi, in the body.  Acupuncture Therapists often use other methods to complement needle treatment based on their assessment. These may include Tuina, a form of massage that uses rhythmic, rocking motions along acupressure points, Moxibustion, a heat treatment using a dried herb called "mugwort", and other modalities that are part of their skillset.

Rolfing®️ - Structural Integration

Rolfing®️ - Structural Integration is a form of bodywork that works with fascia - a type of connective tissue - to improve and realign structure, restore natural movement patterns, and re-balance your body in gravity. Using direct mild pressure to release restrictions in the fascia, Rolfing helps your body to return to an upright vertical posture and move with coordination and ease.

The Ten Series

Please allow 90 minutes for each session.

When You Arrive
You will have privacy to change into the attire you are most comfortable in – bathing suit, shorts, sports bra, boxers. Each session will begin with a brief discussion about how you are presently feeling in your body, any changes you may have noticed since the last session, and any new goals you may have.

During Your Session
We will then do assessments that relate to the session we will be doing that day – these may include standing, breathing, arm arcs, knee bends, and walking. Table work will follow, and you will be lying in different positions depending on the area we are working – you may be on your back, side, or face down. We will use pillows to ensure you are always comfortable and not straining in any way. At the end of each session, we will do gentle neck work and a pelvic lift, followed by back work specific to that session – this may be done with you sitting on the table or sitting on an adjustable wood bench. We conclude the session with standing and walking. I may also suggest some movements or exercises as homework.

90 minute Rolfing®️ - Structural Integration treatment $150+HST ($120+HST for those 60+ in age)

Please note there is a cancellation fee of $118.65 for a missed appointment without at least 24 hours notice before the scheduled time of your appointment.

Functional Exercise & Movement Sessions

Kirsten offers movement education and exercise training to help ensure that you are moving your body in ways that will infuse and invigorate the changes you are seeking through bodywork. For the benefits of bodywork to hold over time, movement patterns must support the work - in other words, muscles and joints must be moving as they are designed to move.We all have movement patterns we have developed over time. Some are conscious, many are unconscious. How we move is an intrinsic part of how we live and how we feel. Our patterns form and feed our physical structure. When we feel discomfort, it is an invitation to take a closer look at how we are moving and even how we are exercising. Flexibility, agility, and strength are vital to long term physical wellbeing and help prevent injury and chronic pain.

60 minute Functional Exercise & Movement Session - $100 +HST ($90 +HST for those 60+ in age)

Please note there is a cancellation fee of $79.10 (HST incl.) for a missed appointment without at least 24 hours notice before the scheduled time of your appointment.
